Why We Started the Little Seeds Unisex Baby Clothes Brand
In 2017, we founded our UK baby brand, Little Seeds, intending to share our passion for organic cotton baby clothes, in ultra-cosy, unisex designs. We believe comfort, durability and style can go hand in hand, and they can be made more sustainably, too.
We wanted to supply families with unisex baby clothes that make every precious cuddle with their little ones feel cosy and snug for them both. This is why we only produce the softest, highest quality, sustainable baby clothes, swaddles and muslin cloths. This vision has allowed us to create unisex baby clothes and swaddles that look as good as they feel.
Why We Chose to Champion Organic Cotton Baby Clothes
We don’t want our baby clothes to cost the Earth. The eco-friendly element of Little Seeds comes from the fabric itself — as the natural fibres of our organic cotton is made using less energy and water compared to the industrially harvested alternative. Organic cotton is also made without harmful chemicals or pesticides, which helps keep toxins out of the environment.
Another key reason for choosing organic cotton is that it lasts longer. We know how many washes and wriggles baby clothes and cloths need to withstand — another reason we wanted our unisex baby clothing to be made in feather-soft organic cotton. Organic cotton is one of the most durable natural fabrics due to its extra-long natural fibres, which are kept intact due to being delicately handpicked.
Another key reason we wanted organic cotton to be the star of Little Seeds’ neutral baby clothes range was its breathability — as we know that keeping a baby’s body temperature stable can be a big worry for parents. Our neutral baby range, including the super cosy Little Seeds swaddles, allows for high levels of airflow, which can help little ones stay cool in summer and also helps keep warmth in for toasty winter nights.
Founders Note
Little Seeds grew from a passion to create stylish but also gender neutral baby products. The idea came to me when I was looking to purchase something for my sister’s baby shower. No-one knew the gender of the baby but I knew I wanted something soft and functional but also special.
